What do past participants think of our programs?

Are you curious about what our programs at Mind Axis are like?

Well, from focus groups carried out with participants from our previous programs, we have extracted five common themes.

They were:

  • Connection

  • Acceptance

  • Appreciation of the facilitator

  • Co-creation

  • Organic flow

The most common theme arising when participants talk about their experience is connection. Many participants mentioned that the program gave them:

“A reason to get out the house and talk to other people” and

“Something to look forward to.”

Participants mentioned the benefits of being with people who are:

“All going through a similar thing,”

“in a space where [they are] all women, similar age range, I think minorities as well, already opens [them] up a bit more because [they already have] some kind of common ground without saying anything”

One person said that they enjoy:

“Having conversations about things that you felt that only happens to you and then you actually find out it happens to lots of people”

Participants also communicated that they felt accepted in all of their feelings by the group. One group member from our October 2024 cohort said that it was:

“a space where you felt you could share what you wanted without being judged.”

One participant emphasised that this mode of connecting to each other was what kept them coming to the sessions:

“There is that energy, that vibe, we are getting from each other which is positive which we take back with us, that keeps us coming back again and again [...] I love coming here.”

Many participants also appreciated the facilitator for their gentle and inclusive approach as well as the co-created nature of the program. One person said:

“you let it [the program] grow with us. [...] You gave us direction but it was a gentle direction. [...] It was really different to other courses where the facilitator is talking to you and telling you okay we're doing this. [...] You asked us all to input in making the rules, how we feel, what should be included [...] it felt really inclusive. [...] We were actually being listened to.”

Our expansive approach to the wellbeing programs we offer allows for an organic environment where the unique set of participants determines the way the program plays out. Participants have stated that:

“It was very organic, so it kept moving, it wasn't static;” “If we had done it with a different group of people, it would have been completely different.”

“There's comfort in that as well, we all brought our own personality, individuality, stories, and we created our own shared space. I think it's similar to creating a piece of art…”

If hearing about other peoples’ experiences has sparked your interest in our programs, we would love to see you in our next The Third Place program in November 2025!
